The theme linked the genetics and neurobiology of recurrent conditions with the therapeutic relationship, psychoanalysis and the organisation of care, while new questions \u2013 artificial intelligence, digital mental health, adult ADHD \u2013 found their place in the programme. The 2026 Assoc. Prof. Georgi Koychev Award was presented to Dr Chavdar Dilov, and the Dr Zdravka Guerdjikova and Dr Ivan Guerdjikov Award for young psychiatrists, presented for the second time, went to Dr Silviya Ralovska (its first recipient, in 2025, was Dr Evgeni Papazov).<\/p>\n<h2>Programme highlights<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Ivan Koychev (Imperial College London) \u2013 dynamic biomarkers for translational experimental medicine in Alzheimer\u2019s disease.<\/li>\n<li>Anna Guerdjikova (University of Cincinnati, USA) \u2013 relapse in eating disorders: diagnostic complexity and weight stigma.<\/li>\n<li>Vladimir Nakov \u2013 \u201cCras, cras et semper cras\u2026\u201d: the recurring pattern of reform in Bulgarian psychiatry.<\/li>\n<li>Dancho Dilkov, G. Dimitrova and T. Nikolova (Military Medical Academy) \u2013 rTMS for preventing relapse in depression.<\/li>\n<li>Georgi Dzhupanov (Suhodol psychiatric hospital, Sofia) \u2013 social contagion and mimetic desire (Ren\u00e9 Girard) in addiction.<\/li>\n<li>Tania Guenova (Antibes, France) \u2013 a psychoanalytic view of repetition and relapse; Valentin Kalinov (Plovdiv University) \u2013 artificial intelligence between psychopathology and psychoanalysis.<\/li>\n<li>Yavor Delchev (Paris) \u2013 digital mental health in France (with Velina Negovanska) and \u201cCaring for patients with ADHD in France: clinical, social and inclusive challenges\u201d (with S. Nikolaeva).<\/li>\n<li>Elena Mihaylova (Kalimat Medical Centre) \u2013 medical and psychosocial management of ADHD.<\/li>\n<li>Silvia Sarakostova (Pirogov Hospital) \u2013 psychiatric aspects of post-intensive care syndrome.<\/li>\n<li>A working group led by Ana Popova and Evgeni Papazov (Prof. N. Shipkovenski Mental Health Centre) on relapse action plans and psychiatric emergencies; educational modules in psychopharmacology and in forensic psychiatry and psychology (Petar Marinov and colleagues).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Participants<\/h2>\n<p>Psychiatrists, clinical psychologists and psychotherapists from institutions across Bulgaria \u2013 St George University Hospital in Plovdiv, Sofia University, the Military Medical Academy, Pirogov Hospital and the Shipkovenski Mental Health Centre \u2013 were joined by colleagues from the United Kingdom (Ivan Koychev), the United States (Anna Guerdjikova) and France (Tania Guenova, Velina Negovanska, S.
